Canyon waltzed into their match  on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came within a single  set of losing the streak, but they secured  a   3-2 W against the Steele Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Cougars have posted  since September 12th.
 It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Canyon got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-27, 25-16, 23-25,  15-8.
 Marlee Lightsey paced Canyon's offense, picking up 29 kills. Lightsey got some help from  Logan Sanders and her 46 assists.
 Steele's loss  came despite strong showings from  Avery Nelson and  Sawyer Lloyd.  Nelson  had 18  assists and nine  digs, while  Lloyd  had 12  kills, 11  digs,  and three  aces. Lloyd has been hot for a while, having  posted five or more  kills the last 14 times she's  played.  Addison Moncada was another key player,  getting 17  digs and six  assists.
Canyon's win bumped their record up to 30-13. As for Steele,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at five matches  and leaves them with a 27-17 record.
 Canyon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  3-0  victory against San Marcos on the 24th. As for Steele, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  win against Johnson on the 24th.
