Sparks is 0-10 against Fernley since December of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Last Saturday, Sparks slipped by Pershing County 48-47. The victory was just what Sparks needed coming off of a 65-31 defeat in their prior contest.
Sparks found their leader in underclassman Eli Flores, who scored 21 points. Adrian Banuelos Puga was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Fernley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 33 points or more this season. They took their contest on the road on Saturday with ease, bagging a 75-42 win over Founders Classical Academy. The win was just what Fernley needed coming off of a 65-45 defeat in their prior game.
The losses dropped Sparks to 2-4 and Pershing County to 0-3.
Sparks took a serious blow against Fernley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 66-37. Can Sparks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
