The Carroll Chargers will challenge the Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran Cadets at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Carroll is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Homestead, who was ranked tenth at the time (Carroll was ranked 16th). The Chargers fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Chargers' loss signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Carroll wouldn't go down easily and took Homestead into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-17, 25-20, 17-25, 16-14.

Defeat or not, Carroll got some senior leadership from Dominic Bennett and Isaiah Trulock. Bennett had 28 assists and 20 digs, while Trulock had 19 digs and one assist. Those 20 digs set a new season-high mark for Bennett.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran posted their closest victory since April 27, 2024 on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over East Noble.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran who won the one that mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 18-25, 25-19, 19-25, 15-12.
Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran found their leader in sophomore Aaron Linder, who had 14 digs. Evan Armstead also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Carroll took their victory against Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Chargers repeat their success, or do the Cadets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
