Swansboro has gone 8-2 against Southwest Onslow recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. Swansboro is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Swansboro came out on top against Dixon last Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Pirates won by a run and slipped past the Bulldogs 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Pirates have posted since March 13th.

Addison McMillan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Katherine Cahall, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. Ryleigh Cline was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Southwest Onslow was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 11-1 to South Lenoir.

Southwest Onslow saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Whitney Grissett, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Swansboro has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Southwest Onslow, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Swansboro took their win against Southwest Onslow when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 8-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
