Sophia Pecina was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 24 points, 18 rebounds, and ten assists for Progreso. The game was Pecina's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Lorena Cerda was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
IDEA Sports Park's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.6 points per game. As for Progreso, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. IDEA Sports Park will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Santa Rosa at 11:00 a.m. on December 29th. As for Progreso, they will head out on the road to face off against Monte Alto at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monte Alto comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
