Basketball Game Preview: Walker Wildcats vs. Lafayette Christian Academy Knights

The Walker Wildcats will take on the Lafayette Christian Academy Knights in a tournament on Thursday. Walker is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Walker will head into Monday's matchup hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 28-point drubbing they dealt Parkview Baptist on Monday. Walker simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Parkview Baptist 62-34. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 28 points or more this season.

Arionna Patterson was her usual excellent self, going 11 of 22 on her way to 28 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Cookmeyer, who posted 15 points and eight rebounds.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Lafayette Christian Academy, as they earned their first road win of the season. They took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 56-15 win over Church Point. The contest marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Walker's win was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.4 points. As for Lafayette Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Walker beat Lafayette Christian Academy 54-43 in their previous matchup back in January of 2022. Does Walker have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lafayette Christian Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
