On Thursday, The New Mexico School for the Deaf Roadrunners faced the Roy/Mosquero Longhorn in a battle between two of the state's top teams. New Mexico School for the Deaf was beaten by Roy/Mosquero 50-0. Having soared to a lofty 45 points in the game before, New Mexico School for the Deaf couldn't push the score so high this time.
Tyler Todorovic threw for 50 yards on 11 of 23 attempts. Adrien Ercolino was his top target, picking up 28 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Zion Holmes rushed for 42 yards.
Roy/Mosquero was led to victory by Brycen Barnes and Rhett Smith. Barnes rushed for 93 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while Smith rushed for 157 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Barnes is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last three games he's played.
New Mexico School for the Deaf has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Roy/Mosquero, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
