Auburn is 2-7 against Carrollton since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Trojans will take on the Hawks at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Auburn comes in on six and Carrollton on 27.
Auburn's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central 6-0. Considering the Trojans have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Not much got past Meena Taylor, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central off the board. Taylor has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Izzy Carlisle, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Addison Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Auburn kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Carrollton had just enough and edged out Carlinville 3-2 on Thursday.
Hannah Uhles was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Uhles was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, Daci Walls was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.
Carrollton's win was their 33rd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 27-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Auburn, their record now sits at 19-4.
Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Auburn hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .335. However, it's not like Carrollton struggles in that department as they've averaged .458. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Auburn came up short against Carrollton in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
