The Riverview Sarasota Rams had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They came out on top against Lemon Bay by a score of 74-61. Given Riverview Sarasota's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Lemon Bay is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ava Sims continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Susan Lowther, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Riverview Sarasota pushed their record up to 16-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Lemon Bay, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverview Sarasota won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bayshore at 7:00 p.m. on January 18th. Bayshore comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lemon Bay, they will play host again and welcome North Port, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
