The Papillion-LaVista Monarchs can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent contest on Saturday. They breezed by Bryan at home to the tune of 83-4. Papillion-LaVista's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Papillion-LaVista's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rease Murtaugh, who scored 19 points along with seven steals. Murtaugh hasn't dropped below 16 points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Fettin, who scored 13 points along with six steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Bryan struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only two offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Papillion-LaVista pulled down 13 offensive rebounds.
The win (which was Papillion-LaVista's sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Bryan, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Papillion-LaVista will be playing at home against the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Omaha North is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.1 points per game this season. As for Bryan, they will head out on the road to square off against the Bearcats at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Kearney presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Bears in Nebraska (the Bearcats are ranked 99th, while the Bears are ranked 271st).
