After three games on the road, Elk Point-Jefferson is heading back home. They will take on The Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Elk Point-Jefferson faced Tri-Valley in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Elk Point-Jefferson came out on top against Tri-Valley by a score of 24-14.
Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They took their game at home two Fridays ago with ease, bagging a 50-6 victory over McCook Central/Montrose. The victory was just what Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan needed coming off of a 32-12 defeat in their prior match.
Drake Gustafson was a one-man wrecking crew for Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan as he rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes. Taite Klumb was another key contributor, picking up 63 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Jason Zeeb and his two sacks.
Elk Point-Jefferson has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven games, giving them a 6-1 record. As for Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan, their victory two Fridays ago bumped their record up to 5-2.
Elk Point-Jefferson strolled past Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 28-14. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bridgewater/Emery/Ethan's Sutton Arend, who picked up 51 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 82 yards.
