The Three Rivers Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Ganado Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Friday, Three Rivers strolled past Kenedy with points to spare, taking the game 32-14.
Meanwhile, Ganado had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 62-6 victory over Bloomington on the road. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 48-6.
Ganado can attribute much of their success to Logan Bures, who gained 208 total yards and three touchdowns, and Bryce Ullman, who threw for 358 yards and six touchdowns while completing 91.3% of his passes. Bures was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 65 yards. Landon Hicks did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 82 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Three Rivers to 5-3 and Ganado to 6-1.
Three Rivers skirted past Ganado 24-22 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Ganado's Kyle Bures-guerrero, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 155 yards and two touchdowns. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for Three Rivers to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
