Christ Church Episcopal extended the longest winning streak in A Region II this week by beating Dixie, 33-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Southside Christian made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,583 from 10,689. The improvement came about via a 41-7 victory over the Sabres last week.
Southside Christian's dynamic duo of John Walker and Colby Boggs proved tough for McCormick to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Walker threw for 152 yards and one touchdown and Boggs had 92 yards receiving. Parker Howard helped Southside Christian's passing attack out by catching four balls for 24 yards.
Austin Jenkins was the most productive running back in the league this week. In six carries, he ran for 34 yards as Whitmire lost to the Chiefs. Sam Miller also contributed to the rushing game with 27 yards on the ground.
The Sabres' Walker and Boggs have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Walker has thrown for 1719 yards this season, while Boggs has 54 catches for 674 yards. The Wolverines' Miller leads the league in rushing yards with 216.
Two of the top units in A Region II will face off this week when Southside Christian takes on Christ Church Episcopal. The Sabres' offense has scored 132 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while Don Frost's team has allowed only 70 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Cavaliers take on Southside Christian. As it stands, Christ Church Episcopal is in first, while the Sabres are in third.
The Cavaliers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 33 points on the Hornets.
