Harker Heights fell victim to Hutto's stalwart defense last Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. Their rough 3-0 defeat to the Hippos might stick with them for a while.
Meanwhile, Copperas Cove's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 4-0 walloping at the hands of Hutto. While losing is never fun, Copperas Cove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 667th, while Hutto is ranked 252nd).
Harker Heights' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Copperas Cove, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10-2.
Harker Heights beat Copperas Cove 4-2 in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harker Heights since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
