Metro and North County Christian are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Metro Panthers will head out on the road to face off against North County Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Metro's recent rough patch got a bit rougher back in November of 2023 after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by St. Mary's on the road and fell 107-21.
Meanwhile, North County Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They took down Heartland Christian Academy 67-48.
Metro bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for North County Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-11.
Metro beat North County Christian 65-57 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Metro since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
