2016 NFL Draft: Ezekiel Elliott won four high school state track titles in 150 minutes

Ohio State junior running back Ezekiel Elliott figures to go quickly in the 2016 NFL Draft, which is fitting.

He did everything fast at Burroughs (St. Louis). Besides being a big-time football star, he won four state track and field titles in the better part of 2 1/2 hours during his senior year.

In fact, he was named the Gatorade State Track Athlete of the Year for Missouri in 2014. He's only 20 now. 

That track performance came after accounting for 3,061 all-purpose yards and 50 touchdowns his senior year on the gridiron. Of those, 2,155 yards and 40 scores came on the ground. That after rushing for 1,802 yards and 34 TDs as a junior.

All of it led him to being a four-star recruit according to 247Sports, and the No. 69 player in the country his senior year and rated as the No. 5 all-purpose back. He had 24 national offers, but picked Ohio State, where in three seasons the 6-foot, 225-pounder rushed for 3,961 yards and 43 touchdowns, averaging a whopping 6.7 yards per carry.

He seemed to do best during the brightest spotlight, rushing for 230 yards on 20 carries in the 2015 Sugar Bowl, a 42-35 Ohio State win over Alabama. That sent the Buckeyes to the BCS National Championship Game against Oregon, where he was even better, rushing 36 times for 236 yards and four scores leading Ohio State to victory.

This year, after announcing he would forego his senior year to enter the NFL Draft, he rushed 30 times for 214 yards in a 42-13 win over Michigan.

The latest CBS Sports mock draft boards say Elliott could go as high as No. 8 - to the Cleveland Browns. Two of the remaining four experts say he will go No. 10 to the New York Giants and the other two each say either No. 13 to the Dolphins or 14th to the Raiders.
