The Kecoughtan Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Menchville Monarchs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kecoughtan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while Menchville is ranked 89th).
Last Thursday, Kecoughtan came up short against Hampton and fell 52-40. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Kecoughtan has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Derek Todd, who scored eight points. Tyler Suber was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Menchville can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Warwick as Menchville made off with a 74-53 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Menchville has posted yet this season.
Kecoughtan now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Menchville, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Kecoughtan came up short against Menchville in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 58-52. Can Kecoughtan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
