The Valley City Hi-Liners will head out to challenge the Grand Forks Central Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Valley City barely beat Fargo Davies the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hi-Liners put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-4 win on Monday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hi-Liners as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Valley City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .421. They are 3-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Forks Central). They blew past Washburn 30-4 on Friday.
Grand Forks Central got a massive performance out of Taylor Herman, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two stolen bases. Those three hits gave Herman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Tollefson, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three doubles, and four RBI.
Valley City's record is now 3-6. As for Grand Forks Central, their record now sits at 2-11.
Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Valley City hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .378. However, it's not like Grand Forks Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .352. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Valley City came out on top in a nail-biter against Grand Forks Central when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 12-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hi-Liners since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
