The Design Tech Dragons will head out on the road to take on the Summit Shasta Black Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Summit Shasta will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Design Tech extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Dragons were the clear victors by a 14-7 margin over KIPP San Jose Collegiate. Considering the Dragons have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Ella Lewis made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off nine hits. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Design Tech got a massive performance out of Jeneva Fletcher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Fletcher is on a roll when it comes to hits, as she's now got four or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Todd, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Design Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are 7-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Summit Shasta). They put the hurt on Luis Valdez Leadership Academy with a sharp 23-8 victory on Friday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Black Bears with their most commanding win of the season.
Dani Reese Bell was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season. Andrea Chevez was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Design Tech pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.3 runs over those games. As for Summit Shasta, their record is now 3-1.
Summit Shasta's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Design Tech has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Summit Shasta, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Design Tech's sizable advantage in that area, the Black Bears will need to find a way to close that gap.
