Encina Prep is 0-9 against Highlands since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Encina Prep Bulldogs will face off against the Highlands Scots at 7:00 p.m. Encina Prep has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,541 points over their last 21 contests.
Encina Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning at home to the tune of 106-31. Encina Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 20 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Sergio De La Cruz, who shot 7-for-11 from beyond the arc and almost dropped a double-double on 33 points and nine assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Adrian Grace, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 28 points and 3 assists.
Meanwhile, Highlands strolled past Vacaville Christian with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 60-45. The victory was just what Highlands needed coming off of a 70-45 defeat in their prior contest.
Encina Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Highlands, they pushed their record up to 10-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Encina Prep suffered a grim 81-55 defeat to Highlands in their previous matchup back in February of 2018. Can Encina Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
