The King Mustangs lost against the Carroll Tigers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. King took a 54-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. While losing is never fun, King can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1044th, while the Tigers are ranked 458th).
It was another big night for Braedon Gomez, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two steals for Carroll. Gomez hasn't dropped below 15 points for seven straight games. Another player making a difference was Milo Gonzales, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
King has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season. As for Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 17-9.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Flour Bluff the next time they take the court. King will host the Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Tigers will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
