Hart 2 Hart Academy was handed a 33-point loss in their previous outing, but they didn't let that bad energy affect their game against First Christian on Thursday. Hart 2 Hart Academy narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past First Christian 40-38. The victory was just what Hart 2 Hart Academy needed coming off of a 62-29 defeat in their prior game.
Meanwhile, St. John Lutheran's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 64-41 walloping at the hands of Pineapple Cove Classical Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss St. John Lutheran has suffered since December 12, 2023.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jeremiah Furey, who scored nine points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Bryce Disimile was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
St. John Lutheran struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Hart 2 Hart Academy's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11. As for St. John Lutheran, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Hart 2 Hart Academy lost to St. John Lutheran on the road by a decisive 49-35 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Hart 2 Hart Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
