The Albertville Aggies are taking a road trip to challenge the Gadsden City Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Albertville was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Guntersville on Tuesday. The Aggies put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won nine matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Adison Pierce made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-5. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February.
In other pitching news, Chloe Reed tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Bethany Strickland, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Kendra McCaffrey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Gadsden City came into Tuesday's contest having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 13-9 win over Ragland on Tuesday.
Like Albertville, Gadsden City also got a great game from a two-way player: Naomi Wise. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Wise was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Jalynn Odom was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kiera Hampton was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
Gadsden City's record is now 8-23. As for Albertville, the victory got them back to even at 13-13-2.
Everything went Albertville's way against Gadsden City in their previous meeting back in February, as Albertville made off with a 14-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Aggies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
