Adding to the longest winning streak in Washington Catholic this week, Bishop McNamara beat Archbishop Carroll 48-13. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Mustangs.
Bishop McNamara took down the Lions 48-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Ramar Williams threw for 307 yards and 5 touchdowns and ran for 60 yards in the win.
Keith Goganious' team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Alfred Bannister contributed 90 yards. Camari Murray helped Bishop McNamara's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 90 yards.
Cory Jones made the biggest impact on defense this week as Archbishop Carroll fell to the Mustangs. The 6-foot-3 defensive end grabbed 2.0 sacks.
He went 13-20 with 0 interception.
Garrison Burnette was a passing and rushing force as Rick Houchens' team lost to Bishop McNamara. He completed 16 passes for 326 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 48 yards. Burnette's key target this week was Scottie Law, who caught 5 passes for 112 yards.
Jordan Crockett was the best wideout in the league this week as the Mustangs topped the Lions. Crockett racked up 7 receptions for 206 yards. Murray helped Bishop McNamara's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 90 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Bishop McNamara's Williams and Crockett have proven to be a lethal combination. Williams has thrown for 1,430 yards this season, while Crockett, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 35 catches for 806 yards. Archbishop Carroll's Christan Melgar leads the league in rushing yards with 456.
The most important game in Washington Catholic this week will be the match up between Gonzaga and the Lions. The Eagles enters the game ranked fourth in the state, while Archbishop Carroll ranks 11th.
Two highly praised recruits will be in the spotlight when the Mustangs and Our Lady of Good Counsel meet this week. Bishop McNamara features high profile senior Damian Prince while the Falcons has Keandre Jones, a sought after sophomore.
There should be lots of points scored when the Mustangs and Our Lady of Good Counsel face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Bishop McNamara comes in having scored 191 this season, while Bob Milloy's team has scored 86. The Mustangs scored 48 points last week as they bested the Lions.
