The Windsor Central Black Knights lost against the Norwich Purple Tornado back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Windsor Central ended up on the wrong side of a tough 42-22 walloping at the hands of Norwich. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Windsor Central in their matchups with Norwich: they've now lost three in a row.
Windsor Central's loss came despite strong showings from Mason Mccombs and Ashton Werner. Mccombs rushed for 189 yards while picking up 8.6 yards per carry, while Werner rushed for 97 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Mccombs' longest rush was for an incredible 79 yards.
Windsor Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Norwich, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4.
Windsor Central will head out on the road to face off against Johnson City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Johnson City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Windsor Central is ranked 122nd). As for Norwich, they will be playing at home against Maine-Endwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maine-Endwell is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
