The Wisner-Pilger Gators suffered their closest loss yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of West Point-Beemer by a score of 47-44. Wisner-Pilger was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Point-Beemer apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Allie Kaup continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for West Point-Beemer, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kaup has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Hunke, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Wisner-Pilger has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for West Point-Beemer, they pushed their record up to 7-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Wisner-Pilger will take on Howells-Dodge at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for West Point-Beemer, they will head out on the road to challenge Pierce on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Pierce is ranked 92nd, while West Point-Beemer is ranked 96th).
