The Helena Huskies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 53-32 loss at the hands of Oak Mountain. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Helena of the 41-35 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isabel Heintz, who scored nine points along with six steals. Amari Grant was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Helena dropped their record down to 8-19 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Oak Mountain, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-20.
Helena will face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pelham presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Huskies in Alabama (the Panthers are ranked 40th, while the Huskies are ranked 174th). As for Oak Mountain, they will be playing at home against the Yellowjackets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. McAdory will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
