Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Dripping Springs Tigers walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 50-27 margin over the Mustangs. The win was familiar territory for Dripping Springs who now have six in a row.
Dripping Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaceton Gotta out in front who rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. Gotta was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 61 yards. Jack Williams also helped out by tossing the rock for 283 yards.
The last time Dripping Springs lost on the road was back back in October. Having now won three straight away matchups, they've pushed their record up to 11-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.7 points per game. As for Jay, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-3.
Dripping Springs will take on Steele at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Steele is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Jay does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
