After a string of eight wins, the Langham Creek Lobos's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Cypress Springs 71-65. Langham Creek has not had much luck with Cypress Springs recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Langham Creek still got an impressive performance from Heather Baymon, who scored 44 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baymon has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Prevost, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Cypress Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jemini Mitchell, who scored 23 points along with two blocks. Another player making a difference was Evonne Sidney, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Langham Creek's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 26-4. As for Cypress Springs, their win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Langham Creek will take on Cypress Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Park has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18. As for Cypress Springs, they will be playing at home against Cypress Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress Falls will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Cypress Springs is ranked tenth).
