Basketball Recap: Mosley Comes Up Short

Mosley lost against South Walton back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mosley Dolphins fell 45-35 to the South Walton Seahawks. While losing is never fun, the Dolphins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Seahawks are ranked 123rd).

Despite the loss, Mosley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Lovelee Holley posted 11 points and seven rebounds. Holley has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was McKenzie Rimmer, who had five points in addition to nine boards and six steals.

Mosley's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for South Walton, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Mosley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-26 win against North Bay Haven Academy on the 11th. As for South Walton, they will face off against Fort Walton Beach at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
