Cascade's game  on Thursday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Monday. They put the hurt on the Newport Cubs with a sharp  18-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won 16 games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
 Malia Scanlan was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, five  RBI,  and two  runs.  Lexie Gidcumb was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with three  runs, three  RBI,  and one  stolen base.
 They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cascade  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in 17 consecutive  matchups.
Cascade's win was  their ninth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 19-1. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Newport,  they are  on  an  eight-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 3-15.
