It was a good run, but the Alamo Heights Mules unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell to Sam Houston 44-40. Alamo Heights was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Sam Houston apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Alamo Heights still got an impressive performance from Talaiyah Andrews, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Andrews has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Magdalena Gutierrez, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Alamo Heights' loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-7. As for Sam Houston, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.
Alamo Heights will be playing at home against Edison at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Edison is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Sam Houston, they will head out on the road to face off against Highlands at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Highlands is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak.
