The Perry Pumas are taking a road trip to  take on the Highland Hawks  at 9:00  a.m.  on Friday. Both come into the  contest bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
Perry is headed into the  match having just  posted their closest  victory since March 2, 2024 on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Chaparral  7-6.
 The team  relied heavily on  CC Hall, who  scored two  runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was  Madeline Murphy, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Highland had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victor by  a  20-4 margin over Corona del Sol. The  win continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Aztecs: they've now won four in a row.
 Kennedie Nelson looked comfortable as she  struck out six batters over  four innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   three  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in February of 2024.
 On the hitting side,  MiaLani Ocampo was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four  runs, three  doubles,  and two  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Alexis Eley, who  went 2-for-4 with four  RBI, two  runs,  and two  doubles.
 Highland  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .641. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Corona del Sol only posted  an  OBP of  .444.
