Western Plains/Healy pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Triplains/Brewster. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Western Plains/Healy in their matchups with the Titans: they've now lost five in a row.
Triplains/Brewster was led to victory by Carson Schmidt and Nick Zerr. Schmidt scored 22 points, while Zerr dropped a double-double on 23 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zerr has scored all season.
Western Plains/Healy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Triplains/Brewster, their victory bumped their record up to 3-11.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Plains/Healy will take on the Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Triplains/Brewster, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
