Meanwhile, Chisum unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 40-33 to Honey Grove. Chisum has struggled against Honey Grove recently, as their contest on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the defeat, Chisum had strong showings from Emma Garner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds, and Cadriene Snell, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds. The matchup was Garner's ninth in a row with at least ten points.
Detroit has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Chisum, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
Detroit came up short against Chisum in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 54-50.
