The Grove City Christian Eagles had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They secured a 59-55 W over Bishop Rosecrans. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Grove City Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Ransom out in front who scored 17 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Ransom posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Seth Vaughn, who scored 17 points.
Bishop Rosecrans lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Xander Daniels, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. Grady Labishak was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Grove City Christian pushed their record up to 10-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Bishop Rosecrans, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-4.
Grove City Christian will head out on the road to take on Berne Union at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Berne Union has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 21. As for Bishop Rosecrans, they will be playing at home against Martins Ferry at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Martins Ferry knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Bishop Rosecrans likes a good challenge.
