Naugatuck hasn't had much luck against Seymour recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Greyhounds will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Seymour took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Naugatuck, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Naugatuck made easy work of Derby and carried off a 14-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Greyhounds in their matchups with the Red Raiders: they've now won nine in a row.

Leah Chatfield made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with four RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Carly Luchina was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Emily Landry also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Naugatuck always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Derby only posted an OBP of .174.
Meanwhile, Seymour fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Oxford on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wolverines by a score of 7-6. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Leah Parkosewich spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Daphne Shea made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kylie Testone, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI.
Naugatuck's record now sits at 8-9. As for Seymour, the defeat was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 10-3.
Naugatuck suffered a grim 9-1 defeat to Seymour in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Greyhounds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
