The Penn Yan Academy/Dundee 's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 33-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Le Roy. While losing is never fun, Penn Yan Academy/Dundee can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 416th, while Le Roy is ranked 165th).
Tony Piazza had a dynamite game for Le Roy, rushing for 163 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.2 yards per carry. Jackson Fix also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Penn Yan Academy/Dundee's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 2-6. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Le Roy, they, and East Rochester-Gananda. As for Le Roy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.
Penn Yan Academy/Dundee does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Le Roy will play host again and welcome East Rochester-Gananda, where Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. East Rochester-Gananda will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
