Mesquite lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Vista Grande, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 12-5 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Jensen Jones, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Gunnar Gift, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Mesquite has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. As for Vista Grande, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mesquite will face off against Arcadia at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats are facing the Titans at the right time seeing as the Titans are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Vista Grande, they will challenge Maricopa at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
