South Pike found their leader in underclassman Deanna Lewis, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Lewis pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alannah Pittman, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and six steals.
South Pike is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Wesson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
South Pike will be playing in front of their home fans against Jefferson County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson County is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Wesson, they will head out on the road to face off against Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin County comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
