A District 7 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Kiefer extended the longest winning streak in A District 7 this week by beating Porter, 28-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Kiefer moved up to 172 from 220 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Josh Calvert's team climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-0 win over the Pirates.
The Trojans' dynamic duo of Justin Rovang and Austin Ford proved tough for Porter to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rovang threw for 98 yards and one touchdown and Ford had 80 yards receiving. Trysten Edwards helped Kiefer's passing attack out by catching two balls for seven yards.
JR Wakely was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 225 yards as Yale bested Ron Coppedge's team. Konner Fowler also contributed to the rushing game with 49 yards on the ground.
Kiefer's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Trojans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Rovang has thrown for 284 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Ford has five catches for 98 yards. Trey Sneed leads the league in rushing with 329 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Bulldogs take on Barnsdall. As it stands, Yale is in second, while the Panthers are in fourth.
Morrison took down Depew 54-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
