Baseball Recap: Perkins Takes Down Shelby in a Playoff Battle

Perkins had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Shelby Whippets 9-1 on Tuesday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Kash Koch spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on one hit and racked up nine Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blake Parker was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Dylan Crabtree, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Perkins' victory bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Shelby, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-11.

As of now, neither Perkins nor the Whippets have any future games scheduled.
