Union dropped their record down to 14-7 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-0 to the Grantsville Cowboys. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cougars, who until this matchup were averaging 3.81 runs allowed.

As for Grantsville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games.

For Grantsville's part, the team relied heavily on Kira Hart, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Hart a new career-high in runs (two). Saydee Thornton also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Looking ahead, Union will face off against Hurricane at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Grantsville, they will be playing at home against Ogden at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cowboys' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
