After two games on the road, Sanderson is heading back home. They will take on the Leesville Road Pride at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Sanderson earned a 53-41 win over Enloe. Given Sanderson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while Enloe is ranked 296th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sanderson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Patrick Dalton out in front who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. Dalton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gordie Balas, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Rolesville scored an imposing 59 points on Wednesday, Leesville Road still came out on top. Leesville Road sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 62-59 victory over Rolesville. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Leesville Road has posted yet this season.
Sanderson has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Leesville Road, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-9.
Sanderson skirted past Leesville Road 54-51 in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Does Sanderson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Leesville Road turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
