On the hitting side, Riley Daigle and Curtis Wheeler did most of the damage at the plate: Daigle went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Wheeler went 2-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Wheeler a new career-high. Finley Cavers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Sacopee Valley came up short against Old Orchard Beach on Thursday, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Hawks have suffered against the Seagulls since May 3, 2021.
Sacopee Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Donovan Harvey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Harvey has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another was Silas Nielsen, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
St. Dominic's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Sacopee Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.
