It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact The Woodlands Christian Academy Warriors can now relate to. They had to suffer through a rough 45-7 loss at the hands of Regents. The Woodlands Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-0.
Regents' win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Quinn Murphy, who threw for 149 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes. Hudson Powell also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
The Woodlands Christian Academy are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 7-4 Second Baptist and 6-5 Fort Bend Christian Academy (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.4% over those games). As for Regents, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with that win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
The Woodlands Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Regents will take on Fort Bend Christian Academy at TBD on Saturday. Fort Bend Christian Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
