The Los Fresnos Falcons will be home for the holidays to greet the Roma Gladiators at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Los Fresnos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Friday.
Last Friday, Los Fresnos came up short against Port Isabel and fell 55-48. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Los Fresnos has scored all season.
Los Fresnos' defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gio Galvan, who scored 15 points along with four steals, and Jj Salazar who scored 15 points. The matchup was Galvan's 21st in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Seth Jones, who scored four points.
Roma has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They beat Grulla on Tuesday by the very same score they won with last week: 41-37.
Los Fresnos has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-5 record this season. As for Roma, their win bumped their record up to 2-10.
Everything came up roses for Los Fresnos against Roma when the teams last played back in December of 2015 as the team secured a 73-41 win. With Los Fresnos ahead 41-19 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
