On Wednesday, the Bingham Miners faced the Lehi Pioneers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Bingham took a 67-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lehi. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Bingham's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Addy Horsley, who scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. The game was Horsley's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Badonie, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds.
Addy Scrivner was on fire for Lehi: she scored 29 points along with 7 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Scrivner has scored at least 25% of Lehi's points. Sammie Love was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 6 assists.
Bingham's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Lehi, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Bingham will head out on the road to face off against Brighton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lehi, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Incarnate Word Academy at 6:00 p.m.
