The West Noble Chargers can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They came out on top against Westview by a score of 44-31. The win was just what West Noble needed coming off of a 54-32 loss in their prior contest.
West Noble's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexia Mast, who scored 20 points along with 4 steals. Mast hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Alayna C DeLong, who scored 7 points along with 14 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Westview saw an underclassman step up: Bre Cory scored 14 points along with 9 rebounds. Cory scored a full 45.2% of Westview's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Bortner, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
West Noble's win bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Westview, they have yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 0-8 record.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Noble will challenge Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Goshen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Noble in Indiana (Goshen is ranked 136th, while West Noble is ranked 328th). As for Westview, they will head out on the road to face off against Churubusco at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
