Southampton Academy hasn't had much luck against Brunswick Academy recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Raiders will venture away from home to square off against the Vikings at 3:00 p.m. Brunswick Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Southampton Academy, who comes in off a win.
Southampton Academy gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against Fuqua by a score of 9-5.
Dutchess Rose spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned runs on nine hits.

At the plate, Sara Hodges was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Kelsey Braun was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Southampton Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are undefeated (4-0) when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 15 runs the game before, Brunswick Academy was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against St. Catherine's, falling 12-2. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Vikings, who until this game were averaging 3.22 runs allowed.
Brunswick Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caylen Jackson, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Southampton Academy now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Brunswick Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Southampton Academy has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Brunswick Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.8 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Southampton Academy suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Brunswick Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
